efforts and pay-for-performance initiatives. Considering the burden of revisits to patients and hospitals following ambulatory operations, our study highlights the importance of expanding health policy and clinical interventions to include ambulatory surgery and complications assessed in the ED. Futurework shoulddetermine associated risk factors and which complications are potentially preventable.

Introduction: Carpal tunnel syndrome(CTS) is the most common entrapment neuropathy in the upper extremity and it develops due to unusual pressure on the median nerve in the carpal tunnel. In this randomized clinical trial, mini open carpal tunnel release(MOCTR) with knife light is compared with the classic open carpal tunnel(CTR) release technique. Methods: A total of 76 patients who were cand...

PURPOSE This study evaluated functional outcomes and safety after endoscopic and open bilateral carpal tunnel syndrome release in opposite hands of the same patients through a meta-analysis of randomized controlled trial data. MATERIALS AND METHODS Randomized controlled trials involving both methods in opposite hands of patients with bilateral carpal tunnel syndrome were identified via a syst...
متن کاملA Comparison of Hand Pain and Hand Function after Z-plasty Reconstruction of the Transverse Carpal Ligament with Traditional Median Neurolysis in Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
Background: Carpal tunnel syndrome is the most common focal mono-neuropathy. A study was designed to compare the effects of traditional open carpal tunnel release with median neurolysis and Z-plasty reconstruction of the transverse carpal ligament on post-operative hand pain and hand function in patients with idiopathic carpal tunnel syndrome. Methods: Fifty-two patients with idiopathi...
متن کاملAberrant Radial Artery Causing Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
Anatomical vascular variations are rare causes of carpal tunnel syndrome. An aberrant medial artery is the most common vascular variation, while an aberrant radial artery causing carpal tunnel syndrome is even more rare, with an incidence ranging less than 3%. This article reports a patient with compression of the median nerve at the carpal tunnel by an aberrant superficial branch of the radi...
متن کاملComparing the Outcomes of Minimal Incision and Double Incision in Treatment of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome: A Randomized Controlled Trial
Background and purpose: Carpal tunnel syndrome is the most prevalent neuropathy caused by trapping and median nerve compression in the wrist. This study aimed at comparing the effects of minimal incision and double incision in treatment of patients with carpal tunnel syndrome. Materials and methods: This randomized controlled trial was performed in 50 patients with carpal tunnel syndrome atten...
